LOW WATER PRESSURE
If your water pressure/flow rate is poor, it could be due to an old lead supply pipe, a leak or burst, or sharing a common supply pipe with other properties. We can separate supplies to property boundaries which usually alleviates the problem with shared supplies. Separation from the boundary to the main in the street must be carried out by the Water Authority as this pipework is their responsibility.
Also, when fitting a new boiler to your property, a new supply pipe is something you should consider as new combi or condensing boilers usually require a good flow rate.
BURST SUPPLY PIPES
Burst or leaking supply pipes are the responsibility of the property owner if the leak or burst occurs between the property boundary and the property itself. Leaks can often go unnoticed for a long time as the water can seep away into the ground and never be seen on the surface. If you are thinking about having a water meter installed at the boundary, it would be a good time to consider the condition of your supply pipe. A lot of people don't realise that they have a leak until a large water bill arrives.
LEAD PIPES REPLACED WITH MDPE
Many older houses have lead water supply pipes. Over time they can deteriorate and become furred up inside. They can become, not only a possible cause of low pressure/flow rate, but possibly be contaminating your drinking water with lead. The current European standard is 10 microgrammes per litre. Lead in water can be harmful to your health.
The new pipes that we install are made of MDPE (medium density polyethylene). It is approved for drinking water, flexible should any ground movement occur and has high abrasion resistance.

TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGY
We install water supply pipes using a soil displacement hammer, commonly known as a mole. This means that we don't need to dig a trench between you boundary and your property. We need to excavate entry and exit holes for the mole and it hammers its way under the ground forming a tunnel through which to pull the pipe. Depending on the layout of other services and the distance between you property and your boundary, we may need to excavate more than two holes but the use of a mole greatly minimises disruption to your property and enables a high quality of reinstatement.
